Ok guys. As promised here are my Todd's 18" Fat Bob Apes. They aren't a true 18". They actually measure out to about 15.5" at the grips without the risers. I was going to get my trees & fork lowers powder coated but I needed my bike back on the road so I had to put that off for now.
I'll get better quality pics later. It was late when I finished the install so I just snapped a quick pic with my phone. Would have looked a lot better with powdered trees and lowers
Those are some nice looking bars. Nice job on the install. I agree they look out of place at the moment on that chrome front end. But when you PC it, they will fit nicely. I am none the less envious, planning on a set of apes in the near to 8 month future...

Thanks man. Yeah I love the bars but hate the fork lowers not being black.
I'm probably going to end up ordering the black fork kit from Harley just so I dont have to have the bike down for weeks waiting on powder. Its more expensive but doing it this way my bike will only be down for a day instead of weeks. Just have to sock away the 5 bills for the kit.
Here is mine. 16" Khrome Werks black narrow bottoms on 2" riser extensions. 2011 FXDB. I am 6'2" and this setup puts my hands about 3-4" above my shoulders. If I sit up straight...they are even. So should be good no matter where I go.
Stock wiring. +4 on throttle, idle, and brake line. Clutch is on the side, so no need to change clutch cable.
here is what i did. 17" Todd's Stripper Apes 1" spacer in stock riser to get them up off of the triple tree and black braided cables. lowered the rear end 1" and raised the tank 2" to even out the stance. I will probably take it all apart this winter and have the rest of the front end powder coated. I ran out of time and money this spring and just wanted it on the road while the weather was good.
I see some of you are having trouble feeding the wires through the bars. i used a shop-vac to suck a small rope up the bars then tied the rope around them and they pulled right through.
