I hate to answer a question with questions but where are "their" bags I didn't see any bags for sale on their website. Also Was the price for a set or just one mount?
They were for both sides.
But somebody needs to clue me in here. What to they accomplish that a set of Easy Brackets can't do and do better and cheaper? Why have brackets in front of the shocks when the bags are situated behind them? What am I missing here?
That looks sweet, is that the Cycle Visions setup?
if so, did you actually have to use their bags? All the pics i see the bags appear to be behind the shock enough to not really need the cutout, but cant tell for sure...
The Cycle Visions setup is sweet! The bags fit properly, like on a Road King, because the bag bottoms are molded to fit around the shocks, so you dont end up with the bags behind the shocks, which makes them look like an after thought. If you want the bags to look right....the bags need to be next to the shock....its a custom lower bag mold with custom brackets, which leads to the high cost....
I've already got two flh/flt bags from HD (used, good deal). Can anyone tell me why I couldnt just use spacer bushings and hang the bags outside the shock width ?
I watched the install video and it sure looks to me that I could.
The whole setup is pricey, but it is clean and "plug n play" so to speak. Oh, the Bags from cyclevisions dont have the lids, so theres probably another 200-300 to buy lids and get them painted if they arent already black....
so 400 for the Baggertail bracket setup, 800 for the bags 200 for lids = 1400 ish.... not to mention circa 300 in shipping costs to get them to europe, so for me its the best part of 2K...
2K, a decent deposit on an FLD...now there's a thought....
ABS lids are available for $99 a pair. You can also find the CV bags on line for about $600. Also FLD bags are tiny. JMO

agree that the FLD bags are tiny, they look to me like a "token" extra rather than a serious set of touring bags. Could never understand why the moco decided on a whole new bag size rather than just use the FL template, kinda like re inventing wheels to me...
CV bags for 600 now? gonna check that out. There is a Indy in Germany importing the Baggertail for softails, trying to convince him to get me a Dyna baggertail
What did you make your fillers out of? Could you shoot me a quick breakdown? Great looking bike.
i made my fillers out of a clear acrylic sheet from the hardware store, cut to size and heated it with heat gun to shape and painted the inside with black paint . I made some little brackets out of aluminum angle iron mounted to the bag mounts then screwed through the fillers..i had to drill 2 new holes through the bags to mount and added a couple spacers....
