Default Help!! Forward Controls, Extended or Standard

I am currently looking at the Kuryakyn forward controls but not sure that I want to go with the standard lenght for my Street Bob. At the same time I'd hate to have the extended lenght be too far out. Right now I have forward pegs and find myself with my heels always on top of them when riding.

I have read that the standard length is recomended by Kuryakyn for people with an inseam of 33" or less. My inseam is 30" but I have ridden a friends low rider with standard lenght factory Harley Davidson forward controls and I feel like I would be more comfortable stretched out a little more.

Does any one have the Kuryakyn extended forward controls on their Street Bob and have a 30' inseam. If so are you comfortable and do you like them. Do you regret not getting the standard length.

Please post pictures?

I out 3" extenders on my DWG. This was from the stock HD location. Kury was the only one with extenders for an DWG 06, otherwise I would have went with 2". I bought someone else's 2" kit and the peg location was perfect, but the rods didn't work on an 06.

If it wasn't for my bad hips & knee, I would say it's to far. I am between 6' & 6'1", give or take. And have a 30-31" inseam.

Now I have to be sure to press my feet onto the pegs on the HWY when relaxing. So I have going to have to go to heel rests now to keep them from slipping down. Or I may bring the holes back 1" and remount the pegs. It would have a dual hoel pattern, but i can plug the empty holes with flush cap screws and acorn nuts.

So if I had the option...stay standard or 2" past the stock HD point. 3" is just to far for anyone under 6'3" IMO.

DON'T DO IT. MID CONTROLS ARE BETTER! Get highway pegs for cruising. Then you have both positions to choose from instead of being stuck in one position for the rest of the time you own the bike. Big mistake. I was just riding today. Used the highway pegs, Great! used the mid controls on the twisties, they gave me more control, and when I saw a large bump coming I was able to stand up a bit to absorb the impact.

I could never lose that versatility. Once again...DON'T DO IT!!!

I like forwards better. IMO, if God forbid, you would have to brake in a big fat hurry, your feet are already where you need them to be. Think about it, a cage pulls out, or brakes hard in front of you. Do you want to move your feet into position, then brake. Or, do you want to just brake ? Your decision.

I have a 30-31" inseam and found the standard Kuryakin forward controls to be just right and much more comfotable than center controls on my Low Rider.

I have the HD forward controls and like them. I'm 6'0-6'1 or there abouts and I can kick my heals up on the pegs during highway rides for more comfort.

try going by your local dealer and sitting or riding a bike like yours with forward pegs and see how you like it, then you can judge for yourself.

When i'm using my mids, my brake is right there too. When I am on an open highway and using my highway pegs I use them only when I have plenty of time to react. If traffic starts to get tight, I switch to mids. Also, I always have my front brake.
