Default Plastic piece behind voltage regulator on Fat Bob

I noticed the other day that this piece is just sort of hanging there and not attached to anything and it looks like it should snap into the back of said regulator. Anyone know exactly how this is supposed to be? This piece has a loop on the bottom of it that holds some wires. It is right between the oil filter and the voltage regulator.

Are you asking about the actual plastic piece or the wires? The wires are probably either the crank position sensor or the O2 sensor. Or both. The plastic piece is just a plastic electrical "caddy" to hold those two connectors.

Yeah, the bottom of the piece holds or surrounds those wires. It is just under the 02 sensor, and right behind the voltage regulator. I couldn't push it back into the little slit that seems to be made for it as the upper part of the plastic has sort of a lip that would seemingly fit there.

I had mine loose for some reason at one time and liked to never got that plastic piece snapped back in. It will go though if you persist, you may have to pull the regulator off, attach it and then bolt it all back on at once.

ok, so if i understand correctly, your talking about the entire plastic caddy is just hanging free. There should be a slit just, and i do mean just, above the voltage regulator. the top of the caddy should have a tab that fits in to it. If its out already youll probably have to loosen the voltage regultor to get the tab back into the slot cause the voltage regulator kinda holds it in place.
