oil not returning to tank 1994 FXDL 64K MILES
I have checked for restricted lines. I have installed new s&s oil pump. I have replaced all gaskets from the cylinder base on up. Lifters are pumping upand holding pressure. I have taken the return line off and it barely spits. I have taken the bike out on three mile runs and when i get back i check the oil in the tank and it is barely warm. I know that it is necessary to prime the oil pump upon replacement. Compression is at above normal readings. Vent line is unrestricted and working. All lines are clear of obstructions. I have installed a pressure gauge and it reads about 20 psi for a short time and then drops to 0. Does anybody know what the hell i'm doing wrong?

Yes, you are posting up in the wrong section. 
I understand its a dyna, but most of the guys who hang around this section have newer fuel injected twin cam dynas. I wish I could help, I'm not very familar with the oiling system on evo's
Try the evo section, or the engine section here. Good luck.
