Baffle mistake and help
I bought a 08 FXD and it came with Rush slip-on's, however there were no baffles installed and it was obnoxiously loud and ran really rough. So I received my 2" baffles and figured I should take the tape off the packing since there were no instructions. Well I ended up with a big mess and half the packing on my garage floor. Whats the secret and where can I get more packing. Must be fiberglass since my hands are all itchy!!!

Personally I do not like the type of packing you are referring to. Look for stove rope, 3/8" or 1/2", you can vary the sound and to a small degree, the performance by how tight or loose you wrap it. Just do not wrap too tight or put too much on as it can create too much restriction.

You can wrap the pipes with just about any fiberglass insulation material or Honda sells some good stuff. Use masking tape to hold it on the baffle. Don't pack tightly. My experience is, however, that you will not get that Rush sound. I think Rush will sell you the packing they use, but give their customer service a call. They may just offer to swap the baffles for you.

Rush does have great customer service. Just give them a call and tell them what you did. They may just replace them. Or like someone else said. Just wrap up what you got and put some masking tape on it to hold it on while you install the baffle.
