drag pipes
I was thinking about putting drag pipes on my 2000 FXD SuperGlide. I know I will need to rejet,I already have an upgraded air cleaner. Can anyone tell me what kind of performance I can expect and what if any horsepower added will be? Thanks GMH

WOW! This post has been up almost an hour and you haven't been bombarded by the plethora of haters who feel but for a 2:1 system its a miracle you bike will even run at all. If your running open drags don't expect to gain much if any power except maybe some top end. If you install a set of torque cones and spend time with a bag full of jets you can get the old girl tuned pretty well and running like a champ. If you want drags, do it because you like the look, love the sound and think 2:1 systems sound awful on Harley's, not because you want to go fast.

Hard to tell exactly what you will get. You might get some top-end extra (5-10HP?) if you get a good tune to finish the stage-1. You'll obviously get a lot of noise that might make it feel as though its running better than it is. Pretty good chance it will run rough at low revs i.e. around town and that you'll lose some power there.
