Anyone had any luck with these. Looking for alittle more power from my FB. Not sure I like the megaphone look of most of the pipes however. Is there a noticeable power increase with them? Are there any that do not have the megaphone style? Thanks
I didn't like the look of most 2-1 pipes either, until I saw the rinehart 2-1's. They just came out 2 months ago. I have them and am completely satisfied with them. They have deep growl, and you don't hear any high pitched noise when you rev it up. As far as power, the bikes rides a little different than stock, and the horsepower increased. Not sure of which ones you looked at, but take a look at these. they are great. I got mines at Eastern's performance for $474.
My biked seemed to have gained a little or "ummmph" after installing 2 into 1s, but it may have just been wishful thinking, I don't know for sure. It hadn't been dynoed yet. I've read reports of small gains of an extra HP or three.
The look is the look. You either warm up to it or you don't. I just wanted something different from the pack and I think I got it. Look around a bit more. Maybe you'll find something more to your taste, like I did.
I have Cobra 2 into 1's on my 2004 Fatboy. I like them and they sound great. I put them on to lower the top pipe under the rider peg. But as it turned out, they made the bike look cleaner then 2 to 2's.
had hooker 2 into 1's on my 2000 fxr4 and they souned sweet. had cams and a s&s carb on it. had a deep sound to them. wish my 06 would sound that good. putting a set of pythons on it tomorrow. a friend bought a set and was not the sound he was looking for. they have less than 500 miles on them and he wants 300.00 and will put them on for me. i like the sound of them so i said why not. i have se 2 on them and never have cared for the sound.
I too dislike the megaphone look that many 2-1 pipes have. I went with the Python 2-1 distributed by Drag Specialties (but made by Vance and Hines). Excellent quality, sound, and good power. The scalloped ends give it a lot of style. I have also heard good things about the D & D Fat cats.
A friend of mine has Thunderheaders. Best sounding pipe I ever heard, IMHO, but looks are another thing with them.
JezCruzin: What's not to like about those pipes....they look great on your bike!
Hey, thanks, Whiskers. I appreciate your compliment. Sure, I like them, too. I'm beginning to see more bikes with the 2 into 1 pipes, and I like the Fat Cat just fine.
