Ok so I have the slip-ons and the AC. Now I need to get it tuned. I've been looking for the SERT (32109-08B) online, trying to find the best price. Once I do I was planning on taking it to the shop and having it Dyno'd. I have found a few of the tuners come with the cable and the software for the Smart Tune program.
Am I to believe I can just hook this stuff up and to my PC and tune it myself without getting it Dyno'd? If so, is it hard to do? Should I just leave it to the pros?
There's good reading in the touring forum about V-tune and Smart-tune.
Personally, if I only had an air cleaner and pipes I'd run one of the canned maps that come with the tuner. Leave the $500 tune for when you get cams or increase displacement.

Not really. SmartTune is no substitute for a dyno-tune. What it will do is if you have SE parts on the bike and there is a canned map provided with the SEPST that matches then it will help make the final adjustments.
