Hi, Gang.
Has anyone hardwired or found an accessory plug to charge their iPod or Garmin to their electrical system?
If so, would you have the link or directions to do this?
I used this one on my dirt bike for USB charging. It attached right to the battery and would charge my IPhone when riding and can be used for GPS also. They make a Powerlet plug for the cigarette lighter type applications as well.

Thanks you in advance,

There should be a plug under your seat that looks like ( see pic ). It is the accessory plug and only works with the ign on. Turns off when ignition is off so nothing drains the battery. There is also a single connector that is battery positive.

+1. That's what I did. HD also makes a y connector for that if you want to connect two items to it. Some people splice and solder, I always use some kind of connector.
If possible, I'd recommend using the accessory connector rather than the battery connection. Otherwise, you may end up with a fully charged GPS and a dead bike one day. I know I would because I'd always forget to unplug it.
... would the acc y-connector be part # 70270-04 for $15.95
that part is for teh battery positive y connector. it has 4 single wires connected together. i used part number70264-94A . this gives you 1 in and 2 accessories out. this gives you power when the ignition is in the on position and turns off when you turn the bike off.

Confirmed. That is the one I used as well. I mistakenly ordered that battery positive y the first time and was a bit miffed at not checking the number twice.
