Well to be honest thats what I thought. But the i went to build my Blackline and oh...140 tire in the rear vs. 200mm. Sissy bar vs. no bar. Side mount license plate vs paying to have it done. Handle bars in comfortable position vs. ordering new set. Flame paint vs. HD Special paint. Same HP.
Does not seem to add up to Pinto comparison, in fact it starts to look reversed. I admit that the Softail rear with no visible shocks really call me though.
I was very close to getting the Blackline and even considered a Softail Deluxe. Very glad that I didn't. The ride on then Dyna Wide Glide is amazing in my oppinion. Much more comfortable than the Blacklines that I test rode..............
I ride a fat bob and love it. I also love the touring bikes, fatboy and the deluxe for different reasons. I am not getting rid of my dyna but rode the blackline at a demo day recently to see if it might be an option for my fiancee. IT IS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BIKE I HAVE EVER RIDDEN!!
Ok enough yelling. I was very excited to try it out but was grossly disappointed. The forward controls are to close and the handle bars are to far away and this is saying something because I am mostly arms. The seat was so uncomfortable a quick 10 minute ride and I was dying to get off the thing. And of top of it the handling and ride experience were just plain disappointing.
I think to ride one of these you would have to change everything about it that makes it a blackline. Might as well keep your deluxe and start rebuilding it from the frame the way you want it.
