Default Softail to Dyna?

Anyone here go from Softail to Dyna? I have been in the process of selling my Deluxe and was ordering a Blackline. I just saw a Wide Glide in black with orange flames and fell in love. Took it for a quick spin and it felt gooood. So now the great debate Blackline Softail or Wideglide. Plus if I go WG I found a dealer with 2 2011s that I bet will make a deal with the new ones coming out any day. Argh, tough decisions.

WD means no need to relocate license, fix handlebars or add sissy bar for roll bag. Just need to powder coat a few things.
Thoughts on 96 engine deals vs new 103 engine probably no deals?

Personally I think dynas are way more comfortable. On the other hand I like the solid feel of a softail. It's a tough decision. How'd you like the bouncing motor at idle? lol

The Deluxe is arguably one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever manufactured. It is a mix of modern and undeniable classic.

The Blackline is arguably one of the least attractive, obviously designed to a price point machines that eyes have ever seen, and this coming from a FatBoy owner.

I prefer Softails over Dynas (please, no flames) but would take a Fat Bob or a Wide Glide-heck, even a Super Glide over the Blackline...no question about it. To me, the Blackline lacks (for lack of a better word) class. Before I felt the ultimate attraction to my Softail, I fell in love with the Super Glide.

It's just me...and to each his own.

p.s.: I used to think Road Glides were fugly. Now I love the way they look, so go figure...

Default RE: softail to dyna

I just traded a 2005 heritage softail which i loved but was getting to heavy for me as I age and have issues with my legs due to C.P. It was with not a little apprehension that I traded off the heritage for a 2011 Dyna streetbob. The Dyna handles fantastic. I can do 80 mph in the mountain passes of Montana and 80 MPH all day long if I want to. Longest ride ive had so far in one day was 475 miles . I was tired but not really sore at all. (With my beat up body that is saying a lot). I love my new dyna. I cant pack the kitchen sink when I go on trips anymore but im fine with the basic nature of my streetbob. I wont be going back to a softail any time soon. Definitely like the DYNA best of the two.

Only one con so far with this bike. I hate the catalyst pipes on the stock bike. I also hate to change the pipes and EFI on the stock bike as it runs so smooth. its a joy to ride. I can't tolerate the extra head coming off the head pipes however so I will be changing pipes soon. Will then remap the EFI and hope for the best. Other than that I love the bike. I dont know what the E.P.A. is thinking going after bikes (1% of 1% of the polution issue?). I have to think its about money somehow. Anyway HD dyna streetbobs rule. Great bike and Fun , fun, fun!!!

Good luck with your choice in buying bikes.
