Got my vote for BOTM!

Looks absolutly great. Many have talked and pondered the idea...you did it!

Did you order the Badboy springer from the stealer? If not, where did you find that beauty?
Unfortunately, the forks were available as a part from the MoCo BUT they obsoleted it. You could assemble it from individual parts still, but it would cost a fortune. I was told that since it is still actually viewable on the website, perhaps it would be re-released later, but everyone I talked to was doutbful. Mark from M&M Cycles called someone at HD to check into it for me. And that would still leave me needing a wheel, tire, axle and hardware, brake hardware, and fender.

I just got super lucky and found an entire front end (including risers, handlebars and other stuff I didn't need). This guy had disassembled and re-powder coated everything so it looked new. I'm honestly not sure what parts are new, but the chrome on the shock, springs and headlight are perfect so I think they are new. The wheel is new also.

I have been watching eBay for months and finally found the one I wanted. It didn't sell but I was the lone bid (below reserve) and negotiated with the guy after the auction for a week or so and we worked out a deal (I think I ended up paying his reserve). He was going to use it on a project but decided he wanted to use a shortened springer and decided it was best to sell this one that had been redone already instead of chopping it up. He put a ton of effort into crating it up and it was perfectly protected. He told me originally this was pulled off of a Bad Boy because the owner didn't like it so he put on a wide glide.

Patience and LUCK!

Kevin

Kevin,

Thanks for the reponse.

I agree that going w/ the HD springer front end was the best bet. As you mentioned, it may indeed not be as comfortable or smooth of a ride as before, but at least you have a very original piece...that you built yourself. Very impressive again. Not sure whats up with the guy that would chop up an original Badboy. They sure are tough to find...especially an unmolested one.

We'll be nominating you to represent our Dyna family next month. Can't wait to see the results!

Nice job on your bike. Next year Harley will probably come out with a Dyna Spring Bob, It will come with a free cleaning kit containing a Sponge Bob Sponge. Just joking about the Cleaning kit. Very nice job on your bike.

WOW, that is a good looking front end and great modification. You are a visionary. I hope it's got a nice clean garage to park in.

Good thing you're name isn't Jerry because everybody would be asking about Jerry's Springer. [8D]

HA! You've seen pictures of my garage. It's as bad or worse than ever unfortunately. I was like a contortionist working on this thing and dodging junk. Now that I have no money to spend on the bike, maybe I'll get it cleaned up (not likely).

And check this out: Jeri's Springer

Holy crap! I never bothered clicking on this thread thinking it was another one of those "my Bob's a year old and I love it" types. After seeing it build to two pages I thought I'd take a peek.

NICE JOB! Looks great, man.
