I've found my Fat Bob totally comfortable. I do have a Sundowner seat (which I purchased at time of purchase with the intention of riding two up) but never use it.

I do find my right foot doesnt quite get into a comfortable position because the brake lever is in the way. I will try and adjust the position of the lever when I get a spare minute.

Have had mine a year and put nearly 14,000 miles on it with the stock seat and the wife on the back for pretty much every mile of the way. A "Butty Buddy" is a nice cheap investment for the passenger seat that works great.

I ride my Street Bob 2 up on 400-500 miles days all the time, 1k-2k trips. So if I can do it on a Street Bob...

I just traded an 09 Fat Bob and the seat was one of the few bright spots on the bike. If I could get a Fat Bob seat and put it on my new Street Bob, it would be the best bike I have ever owned. Oh yeah, did the Pensacola to Gatlinburg trip to ride THE DRAGON (530+ one way) and rode 2 of the four days there, then rode home for a 1600+ mile round trip.

Default Better Than A

I went to Bike Week and did 1300 miles the first 2 days on a perfectly stock (except pipes) bike so it is definitly doable

First off I wasn't used to feet forward and up riding . It was a bit of a grind and I was using every position I could think of for my feet. When running 65+, and frequently 80mph, for any amount of time I'd have to do some of the following.... lean forward, grab fork tubes grab risers, sit forward sit back hook my feet under shifter/brake etc etc. While in Daytona I picked up a 16" Windvest screen and it made the return trip much more comfortable.... plus the ride down had gotten me in some sort of shape (-:. With the Windvest I can sit there at 75 all day long and never have to lean forward grabbing whatever. Stillhave the issue of feet out in the wind like a sail trying to blow them off of pegs and find myself with them on the rear pegs within 30 minutes then start shifting them back and forth but I'm old and stiff anyways

Never had any real issue with the seat... seems like a Barcalounger compared to my dirtbikes or Ducati and not as good as my KTM Austrian Adventure bike.

Luggage... Currently just have a tankbag and a fanny pack that will carry enough stuff for a weekend or indefinitly if you wash a few items in the evenings?? I'll be adding some detachable bags and if I can find something I like (not to bulky) a backrest/rack so I could carry a pack on the seat.

My trip coming back was done in 4 meandering days of 1500 miles, 300-400 miles per day, and that seemed about right for enjoying "The Ride"

Don't know about passenger comfort as haven't had that pleasure.... my ideal gal would be happy with the stocker but most of the ones I'm finding look like they would start the whining crap if they had to do more than 20 miles on something less than a double bucket

I love the fat bob on long rides. I have done rides up to 10k and do at least one a year that is 4500-5000 miles. Longest day has been just over 1000 miles. This is on the stock seat, forward controls, stock bars, etc. Only things changed on the bike are grips and pegs.

I'm about the same size as you and I keep having issues with my neck killing me on longer rides. What setup do you have on your bike? Appreciate any advice you can offer.

I just got back from a 3200mi run from Denver to the Smokies. I'm 58, with an 08 Fatbob, upgrade Harley seat with it. Mostly did 300 to 400m days with 2 at 500m. No butt problems. Only thing I'm gonna change is the handlebars. They look good but I lean forward too much for longer rides.
