I've had a Thunderheader on my lowrider s for a year now and the black finish is looking pretty bad already. The D&D fat cat makes good power and has a nicer finish.
Well and there you have it 2 1/2 pages naming every 2-1 pipe set available.
Truth is there isn't a "best", they are all made to compete with each other in the same market.
Sorry pal, but that's the way of it with many-many items for these bikes. As soon as a manufacturer finds an edge the next guy copies it and sells it for $2 less, everybody runs out and buys it, then a shortage happens and the price goes up $50 on all of'm.
Life sure is tough, isn't it? Especially this motorcycle stuff!
Man you keep bumping these ancient threads. You may not get answers to your questions
Let me tell you about bumping ancient threads! I sold my 08 Ultra classic in 2016, I think it was, because wife said she was done riding. We had a good time while it lasted. It is now 2021, I'm weeks away from 66 years old, I'm looking at buying a Dyna. Never owned one. Had a Heritage Classic and the afore mentioned Ultra. So, I'm here trying to learn about the Dyna Wide Glide. If I want to know something, I'm gonna ask. If it's an old thread and that bothers you, I'm sorry. But not everyone is uptight about stuff like that and it is those who like to help their fellow riders that I'm seeking.......NOT "how to use the internet nerds". Get over yourself my brother, life is too short! P.S. I'll update my profile at some point, but FWIW, everything you see listed that was done to that ol' 08, I did myself! The dealer only changed the oil one time!

I'm a few years behind but catching up. I never liked or could get use to narrow glide front ends. Looking towards the future I've recently chosen to get off heavy weight motorcycles. A Wide Glide in my opinion was a good compromise. I've adjusted to get comfortable with a Wide Glide's added rake, taller, skinnier front tire, extended forks and longer wheel base. The differences between an Ultra and Wide Glide aren't so noticeable during high speed cursing but lower speed maneuvering its taken me some time to get use to the variances.

It's been a while since I've been on any kind of bike, but that is the way it has been my whole life; have a bike, then quit riding after awhile, sell it, get the urge again and buy another one. I'm getting a knee replaced over the winter, the other one will eventually need it too. Probably ought to stay off bikes, but I probably won't.
