I wrap my pipes. I use the automotive wrap from autozone and use the black silicone spray to color them. The heat off the pipes is gonna depend alot on how close you overlap the wrap aroun the pipe. I love the look, gives that old bobber look to me. If you do yourself acouple of tricks you might wanna use; I always set the wrap in a bucket of water for 15 minutes before I wrap with it; Sometimes I will use a spray adhesive on the pipes if they a difficult pipe to wrap; another is I use hose clamps instead of the thin tensioners that come with some wraps. Once I get the wrap done, I let it dry it the sun, then spray it with the silicone, let that sit for a second, then bolt them up start the bike and let it run and dry them out

I used the new dei titanium wrap, easy to install and no need to coat anything or soak them. Use hose clamps for a better grasp.

I have not done this. When I had my ShortShots I wrapped without the heat shields and regreted it once I saw how much better they looked wrapped with the HS left on. I now have a Thunder Header which doesn't have full heat shields.

Its a custom exhaust that american classic motors has. The good thing I didnt have to alter or fabricate anything they matched up perfect. The pipes come with, all the needed hose clamps, mounting bracket for the bottom of the pipes, and heat shields too, but I prefer wrap. I got bored with my others and wanted to change, and found these on ebay, and thought they are different and make getting my oil dip stick alot easier.
