I have shinko 777 on mine right now and love them super sticky. I also run a rear shinko on my dirt bike and have won several races with them. they have some good rubber in that company. Don’t get all caught up in it has to be xzy tire or it’s no good. They are to cheap not to try.

Im not knocking them, no doubt they are sticky and I liked that, I was disappointed with the milage. I run a 200/55 -17 on the rear and at almost 200 bucks for the tire alone and averaging some 6000 plus miles a year, well you do the math.
I ran a Shinko 230 Tourmaster on the back of my Sportster. You would think with "Tour" in the name it would be made for long distance riding. Only had 4,000 miles on it when I got rid of the bike and the tire was almost gone. I put 15,000 miles a year on my Sportster, I'm not changing tires 3 times a year.
Now that said the tire handled very nice and had excellent performance in the rain. And at $73 shipped it was cheap.
There ya go. It's the same story all around. Even with folks I've talked to outside the forum. I suppose I could have got another thousand out of it but I don't like running them down that far. Most of the conversation here has been the back tire, I haven't even started talking about the front.
even with proper alignment and always checking pressure, the uneven wear was the worst I had ever had. I know I know " bad bearings or bent rim" blah blah blah. Sorry guys and gals, none of that. Just a cheap tire . By the way, these were the 777s.
I put a Shinko on the rear of my 77 Ironhead. 3,000 miles on em and only 4/32" of tread left. Good ride, corners GREAT, but . . . very low life. No, I won't waste money on Shinko again, even though Yokahama owns Shinko.
I've had a set of 777's on my fxdf for about 7k miles and they still look good. They have at least a few thousand miles left in them. Probably more so with the front.
They stick like squid in the corners and are wearing as I'd expect.
If someone said I could buy a Chinese made motor for my bike for half the price of a US made HD motor I wouldn’t. Whats the worst that could happen? I’m left stranded with a junk motor?
Tires are the very last thing I would ever try and save a buck on. Just one of those things I wouldn’t feel confident ripping through the mountains with a cheap tire being the only thing keeping me connected to the road .
I've posted this before .... This was the rear tire on a buddy's Triumph ... It gave out on I-75 with his gal on the back on out way to the U.P. ... Fortunately he was able to get it stopped without any ill effects to him or the scooter ... The tire was less than a week old ... He had to spend the night waiting for a new tire to be brought up by a friend ... No Shinko's for me ... No thanks
