Have just traded my Sportster in for a 2011 Wide glide , got the new bike home yesterday , great to ride but too quiet. Have been looking at Rush slip-ons, Screamin Eagle filter and the AF-XiED from nightrider. I haven't seen a review of the AF-XiED does anyone have one ? any good?
did the same thing just last month, added rush slip on's the first week i owned it and after 1000 mile check up i have a crossbones air cleaner and xied's to install.
Just got my 2011 wide glide a month ago, and put on the Rush slip-ons with 2.0 baffles. nothing else. I think it sounds perfect. One of the RUSH guys added some info about XiEDs and tips to my thread. check it

I didn't even bother with slip-ons for mine. I simply pulled the mufflers off and let the headers do the talking. They have the catalytic converter in them anyway, which is where the greatest restriction seems to be.
I put the O2 IEDs on mine, but there was no significant change in head temperatures. The drop from 14.6:1 to 14.2:1 isn't huge as far as EGT and CHT are concerned, but it helps. And it's not so rich as to kill the O2 sensors over time.
Here's a chart showing the effects of various fuel:air ratios:
You can see that CHT peaks at 14.7:1, and EGT peaks at 15.6:1. Power, of course, peaks at 12.5:1, but IEDs which brought you down to being that rich would kill the O2 sensors in short order. The 13.6:1 that yours are capable of are probably fine, though.

I once considered the AF Xied's, but I went with a Power Commander V and Auto Tune, so I don't need them. Further thoughts on the Xied's (my opinion only) is that the AF version is overkill and might take up too much space. If I'd gone that route, I'd most likely have gone with the base model Xied's.
I think they would work fine for cooling things down a bit, which was my original goal. However, if you even think that you might eventually want to go with further engine mods, you might want to go with an upgrade-friendly tuner.
Thanks for all the input, I now have Rush slip-ons on order from the USA ( can't find any place that sells them over here ) - I will fit them first and then see how it goes.
