Default Time For A Tire

Bought a 2008 street bob a few months back ( I love it!) time for a new rear tire it has a 170/70-17 on it I can get a 150/70-17 at a real good price. Will it fit Ok?

since the 150 is narrower, I'm not sure why it wouldn't.

Why would you do this? I also do not think it will work correctly.

Pay the extra $20 for the proper tire.

Welcome to the forum, btw!

There is 20 mm difference in width for starters.

Sure it'l fit... But, the contact patch is gonna be smaller ultimately affecting your cornering, traction and Your SAFETY! Not to mention the service life of the tire. I would suggest you re-think this choice.... Try a 170VR60-17, Metzler ME880 is my choice. Wet and dry traction is good and cornering is exceptional. Plus, by going to a radial, that little butt wiggle you get when you change lanes out on the freeway will go away, never to be felt again. And remember ....Chrome won't get ya home. best wishes... Tim

I think old school chops run on skinny tires, but you need the right rim. If you are only looking to save money, try to find a different supplier. Remember, you only have 2 tires. Make sure you take care of them!

The bike came with a 160 from the factory so I think a 150 should not make mutch dif. Thanks
