I have a 2011 Fat Bob and just recently had V&H side shots, an S&S breather and Master Tune installed. This was done about a week ago. I have since washed it once, and put on about 300 miles without any issue. The bike is still under warranty and hasn't had its 1000 mile tune up done.
Today I was out riding in the sun and as I came into town the bike started idling funny at low speeds i.e. approaching stop signs. It felt like it was going to die out so I idled it up and kept going trying not to stop. It died in second gear when I pulled in the clutch to downshift... Why is this happening?
There are endless reasons. Sucks due to it being a new bike though. Hey just get it back to the dealer, you said it, its still under warranty. Did you do the exhaust , air cleaner and mastertune install or did you have the dealer do it. If they did it, did they tune it or just install it with a base map.
1st thing to check is battery connection. I have heard this happening to others when the neg or pos terminal is loose.
Have the dealer pick it up, the pick up should be covered under the warrenty. There is a FLASH to have the TMS (temperture management system) turned on by the dealer. See page 70 of your owner's manual. It should be free. BUT You put the full stage 1 on with a programable computer and from your statements it doesn't appear that's programed correctly
The dealer did the install, they tuned and mapped the engine. I checked the battery connections, they are good. I've been reading on here that some people have issues with water running down the seat and collecting in the fuse box... It was just weird how it happened. Died out while riding and was idling really strange.
If the dealer did the install, it's totally thier problem, they have to make the bike run right. Learn how to do the minor/simple things yourself. Stage 1 was a piece of cake for me, but I came from an automotive backkground, it aint that all much different, just less of a platform to deal with.
