First base map ran great, after several hundred miles it recomended auto mapping. After a few hundred. Miles the bike has a terrible hesitation right off idle.. Help!!!!
I reinstalled the Base map and i guess ill just have to see whats going on....
To be honest i cant tell if the reinstalled base map is installed correctly....
Maybe im in over my head with the tmax....
How did you remap? Did you Read, Automap, write? Or do something else? It should not have changed how it run just by automapping.
Have you disconnected power at all?
I used zippers proceedure for changing base maps, to be honest though when i did this it still showed the map that i had changed the last three numbers to the last date of automapping!!!! It doesnt want to get rid of the corrected maps....
I am way over my head with this thing.... The original base map ran pretty good, it said automapping recomended, after choosing that feature, the bike has ran much worse, it throws a check eng light if it idles to
long, even at start up, i
talked to zippets sgain this
am and will send them my
mapping through the tech
support.....
I
Im almost ready to remove the tmax and go to somthing else.....
Plus im doing cs
I paid alot for this unit, i guess i just figuered it would be a slam dunk as far as making the bike run perfect.... There is way more to it thank just installing it and forgetting about it...
I need to get this thing running good because im doing cams soon and want to get another map sorted out.
The check engine light bothers me, it didnt do it before automapping...
You should not have changed base maps when doing an automap, or maybe I am not understanding what you did. My hunch is you may have missed a step, automap is a very easy and quick process, and since it takes the new map created my the tmax, which it was running on, there should be no big difference in performance. Mine only improved after automapping.
I would walk Zippers through exactly what you did and let them figure it out.
I had them send me the directions again this morning, i will try to reinstall a new basemap today..
Also i'll send them the info they need from automapping to see if they can help me figure it out... Hopefully seeing the maps, they can get me squared away....
At this point i just want the original basemap i had...
When I talked to Zippers tech about installing cams they told me there would be no need to change maps. Get it set back up to where it was and leave it alone. If you did change base maps did you re initialize the system....30 secs. on 30 secs. off 3 times?
Im thinkin that when i went to change back to the original base map i didnt get it deleated, and it just reinstalled the updated map again.... Im gonna go through and kill everything that i saved and start from scratch....
Don't give up on that tuner, it can do wonders. I think you didn't close out the map you didn't want to use, or some other step you missed. The last couple of months I was loading maps that were being tweaked by a buddy, and no matter how many times I did it, I kept Zippers' instructions in front of me every time.
An off idle hesitation could be accel fuel or an IAC issue. Do you have a good IAC map cal on the TMCC?
I also found that running Auto Map every time it was recommended still left room for more auto tuning. I didn't run AM for at least 3-400 miles or until the TMCC says "strongly suggested".
