Default Ape Hangers and Cables

I currently have the mini apes on my 2011 Street Bob. I am thinking about getting 14" apes. Would I need to replace the cables or would the existing ones be long enough?

Thanks

You can rearrange/stretch the throtle cables, and the clutch. The brake and wiring will be fine.

But most guys who stretch them end up changing them out eventually, just for appearance usuallly.

Yeah this is asked every day. Search around but I am pretty sure 14" is the most you can go on the stock cables.

depends on both the width and height. If you are going wider and14" higher for sure you will need cables - all of em. mine are 14's ( stock is 10" ) and 2" wider than stock so I needed all cables. did +6's and looks good.

I just threw on the Burly narrow 14" apes on my 2009 Street Bob. All the original cables worked. I just had to take some slack out of the front brake cable under the fork and slightly bend the metal housing on the throttle side. It did take me a few hours to find the harness in the backbone near the neck, disconnect and reconnect the wires from the 4 harnesses . Hint for you.. on the blinker harnesses, a toothpick is your friend. All in all, the time invested was worth it, the bars look and feel great.
