You guys that are running a swingarm mounted license plate. What did you do about the holes in the fender once you removed the factory plate mount? TIA
I thought about that, but they'll show for sure. I guess I'll have to weld and repaint, or just live with the plate in it's stock location.
Wow. Having the little bumps showing is enough to persuade you to not move the plate? Not razzing you here, I mean, after I moved my plate I was thinking of ways to get rid of the plugs too. I just didn't let that stop me from getting the cool sidemount. [8D]
If you're going to weld and repaint you ought to go ahead and bob the fender. Some of the side mount plate mounts come with brake lights. I've been considering this modification along with a 180 tire or larger. Either way, the side mount plate looks cool. I don't care for the plugs but I can live with them for now.
I had all of mine welded up except the hole for the two-up seat screw.
I also didn't care for the looks of the
rear light on the fender so I also had that welded.
Yes, having the holes there with plugs in them wouldn't look right to me, so, I would have to weld and re-paint. It's not a big deal for me though, I have my own MIG and TIG welders and I do my own paint. I'm just looking for alternatives because it is still time consuming to do all that work and it would be easier to just bolt something throught the holes and leave the fender stock. Plus I would have to run a light with it.
