Default Floor Boards....?

Ok, I admit, I have only rode a bike with Floor Boards once, A short ride of a couple of miles....
After reading all the threads about the FLD, I'm curious now, What is the big differance riding with pegs verses Floor Boards....
Thanks to all for there feed back....

The advantage to the floor boards is that you can reposition your feet on long rides. For some this makes it more comfortable.

Thumbs up

I put a home made set up with floor boards on my FXDLI helps with being able to move around a little to stop pain/cramp in my right knee. Mid controls at about an hour were not doing it, And forwards well way to far forward (vertically challenged)
Comfort

I've only ridden baggers with floorboards and I love them. Not only do they offer more position options, but it also helps because I have huge feet. Now I'm thinking about switching to a Fat Bob and will need to figure out the best/cheapest way to go. I'd really like to have the full-size floorboards, but I see a lot more options for smaller ones out there to replace pegs.

I love the floor boards on my 2009 Electra Glide. They are more comfortable than pegs. They have rubber isolaters that cushion the boards from most all of the vibration. The foot pegs on my 2011 Super Glide Custom do vibrate a little but its no biggie. I am looking into adding floor boards on the Dyna but I have the forward control kit installed. I am not sure if the floor board kit works with my forward control kit.

Pegs came stock on my FXDI ... I swapped from mid-control to forward controls initially ... then adapted Softail floorboards ....

I could not use the mid-controls ... for me it has all been about comfort .... With forward controls, it felt like I had to hold my feet down (tensing my legs, unneccessarily) ....

See here for a 'how-to' thread that show how I did it ... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...na-photos.html

I put the FXDP reproduction floorbaords on my 2009 FXD. Made a world of difference in ride comfort. Now I can move my feet around and not stuck in one position. I feel it is one of the best mod I made. Now with the new FLD out I have read that the floorboard system in it will bolt directly to older Dyna's. That something I may look into because the FLD setup looks like it a little lower and a little farther forward the FXDP reproductions.

I have mounted the following ones on my fatbob and found them pretty comfortable:

Low cost and I bet you can tell. But I bet you could just swap pegs out for 'em.

I have a set of Kury wide pegs and heel stirups. Basically mini floor boards in my eyes
