Default 21 inch front wheel

I know this issue has been talked to death but I want to put a 21x2.15 on my 07 sb. I am thinking I read somewhere to use the hoop and spokes off a sportster and lace it to my hub. Thanks in advance for any help.

Correct, take a 21" Sportster rim (same part number as a WG rim) and 21" Sportster spokes and use your current hub. The pattern in the DYna service manual is not the right one, so I had to send my rim off to get it.

With all the horror stories about hub failuers on aftermarket wheels around here lately, I think the only safe route left when bumping up to a 21 is to relace a hoop to your factory hub. That way you KNOW it will work.

nto sure on the sporty but i went with the Jirah rim...laces right to the stock hub and uses the stock spokes

Front rim info:

That post was for the 21x3.5. I wonder if the 21x2.15 rim from jireh would work. I also just talked to a guy that has a wide glide front end at his shop that he wants to trade for my midglide but I'm not sure if it will fit

Probably a dumb question but if you put a 21 hoop with the stock hub wouldn't the stock spokes be to short..? don't know that's why i'm asking..

the lace patter is different, they are a much wider lace pattern and spreads them out. Really looks trick with some twisted spokes... that is why i went this direction

I just laced a 21" 2.15 to my hub. I used a wideglide rim "loop" and sportster spokes. Everything worked perfect, just take your time when lacung the rim. Remember the lacing pattern will be 4 over 1, this will make more sense when you start lacing.
