My main reason for the SE tuner is I was told by the dealer I purchased the bike from the only way to keep my warranty intact is to use a MoCo tuner, installed and dyno'd by them.

Another dealer told me I have already voided the warranty with the V&H pipes by doing them myself. I also put Stage I A/C & borrowed Xieds on it 3 weeks ago, I'm removing the Xieds before the bike goes to them.

Honestly, this is my first Harley and I try to get my HD information in this forum as dealers never seem to be consistent, and often seem to be deliberately confusing. I'm still confused but I will be asking exactly what is going to go happen to my bike before I spend several hundred more dollars... I will ride away if they are still spouting that 3-5 days bull****.

I am taking notes gentlemen, thank you for arming me with more information and options prior to my visit there. I will look back again a few more times before I ride out there tomorrow morning.

Thanks so much!
David

The thing with the warranty works like this..if you replace a oem part with an aftermarket part than that parts warranty will be void(only that particular part). Or if you replace a oem part with an aftermarket part that causes another part to fail and can be proven that the aftermarket part caused the failure then the warranty on the broken part would be voided.

I don't know about the warranty but you won't be happy if you get a sub-optimal tune. Ask around for a good tuner and use the tuning interface he prefers.

Just home from the first road trip with the new tune....

"it takes time" was the only reason the service mgr could give for wanting the bike for 5 days... I told them I expected a day, maybe two when I made the appt and was riding midweek, they got it done for me in 2 days, which seems a bit long still, but I had the bike when needed and it runs great!

Part No. 32109-08B is the SE tuner module, plus the dyno work (roughly 5hrs total, a flat $280 fee) to dial it all in is what I bought. I could have went a cheaper route, but I had $200 in store credit which helped defray the cost. The dyno tech @ Buckminns in Xenia, Oh. was recommended by several people I've talked to in recent weeks. Very nice guy, explained much of the process to me while chatting in the parking lot when I dropped the bike off.

Overall, the tune, pipes and A/C gained me 18 torque and 9 hp over stock according to the dyno sheets, I can scan and post if there is place for these here?? Right off the bat I noticed the additional torque, the bike is noticeably stronger in the 2-5K range, as the dyno sheets indicate, and the seat of my pants will verify. It also seems to have more thump to the exhaust note idling at the light, that could be my imagination tho. Fuel economy is about 45 mpg on the highway. The one thing I never realized is this tuner module does not stay on the bike under the seat with the brain... you take it home in the a box it comes in. I keep it in a zip lock bag now.

I had not planned anymore performance mods in the near future, now I'm dreaming about what is next...

Thanks for the tips and information, it helped with my sanity at the very least.
