Default That Dang Strap!

I needed to take the seat off a few days ago to put in the rear turn signal red light mod. After squeezing my hand in between the seat and frame to loosen the strap nut, I decided it was the last time. I threw the strap in a drawer and didn't put it back on. I'm tired of scatching up my hands trying to get that thing on and off! I know the seat police will be at my door any moment now. I thought about just fastening it under the seat without bolting it to the frame for looks. Then I thought it looked better without it anyway. I rarely ride two-up anyway. If I'm breaking any laws, I'm going to buy a solo seat.

That strap was history the first time I tried to switch my seat from my stock seat (solo) to my two up Sundowner. I never put them back on.

I never put the strap on, because it was going to be an issue when switching between my solo and sundowner.

Yep...same here...I find that rotating the seat a little off centerline lets me slip right out of it.

My seat would not come off unless you removed the strap - and it is one pain in the backside.

So it came off and stayed off the first time.

I don't think police notice or care about that stuff.

Also - if you have a backrest, it may qualify as the "passenger restraint" regulation - not sure.

Anyway, I hated the strap.
