2. Then I always put bike in left lock, a little for security reasons, mostly so I can see from a distance that I remembered to turn ignition off.

Easy, no drama.
That's a good way of thinking of it, but I don't use my kill switch to turn it off, but the two times that I had to get it off in a hurry while rolling, I never had a problem finding it. Could be just from riding so long, could be from "fight or flight syndrome", but it all goes back to everybody does what they do for their own reasons. It's not a stupid question though because of answers like what dobro said

Default What Kill Switch?

Ain't nobody gonna kill my Harley. My SB is one of the few things that I have left that's keeping me alive.

Two threads right now on this subject are at the top.
Can't believe anyone would start such a thread. Like someone said and several agreed with...

That's the way I do it. I've practiced it many times. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

no **** if that were the case you would have to shift your car into neutral then hit the kill switch. put it in park then turn the key off. load of crap. do whatever comes natural to you but dont do something because someone told you you will die if you dont do it this way.

I do the same, the alarm system it's very practical and I lock the bike with a key only if I'll be gone for a while.
You guys DID change the default security code on your alarm system didn't you? Otherwise anyone can jump on your bike turn the ignition on, press both turn signal buttons within 2 seconds and using left and right turn signal buttons dial in 31313 and deactivate your alarm and ride off with the bike.
If you haven't done it, go in the garage NOW and change it.

the reason I heard for this one was, the fuse for the kill switch is about a buck but fry your ignition switch and its like 50 bucks or something tot hat effect.
Me I always use the kill switch I mean why not you hands on the bars already?

And if you need to be told to turn your bike of and lock it maybe you should have your wife drive you.
