I wonder if there is any truth to this? I know any modern vehicle has a constant power draw on the battery just for alarms and the like, I just don't understand what an ungrounded kill switch could add to it.

Me, I just leave the ignition turned to "ignition" and the "off/run" switch to "run". . Did this by filing the nub off the key so I could removing it in the "ignition" position. I rerouted the red ignition wire to a toggle switch above the horn. This is the only thing I use to to turn the bike on and off besides hitting the starter button.

As far as the "off/run" switch drawing power over time, I wouldn't know as I keep a battery tender hooked up whenever return home and park in my garage.

I put my FXDC in neutral and turn off the ignition switch. I think what ever works for you, is ok!

WAIT..... you can turn off your bike? I thought it had to run all the time... FML. No wonder that exhaust change out sucked so much...

Now, its kill switch, ignition, then key? or key, clutch.....I'm confused. I'm just going to keep pumping premium in her, as the constant sound of her running puts me to sleep.

Kill Switch
Ignition Switch
Petcock

Also anyone remember FINEC when a bike won't start?

I like this idea. May have to see what I can come up with. Hate having to reach around to the neck, and really don't want the switch on the tank either.

If you can't remember to turn off the ignition, you might also forget to lock it or to take off your helmet in church or whatever, I would ask your weed dealer if he has something a little lighter.
