I had the 412s, but I'm a lightweight and they were too stiff even on the softest setting. And if you have saddlebags, there's no room to use the wrench for adjusting them.
The 430s are more expensive but the ride's smoother, and there's no wrench for making adjustments; just twist.
Fitted 440's on my 2010 Lowrider and they have totally transformed the handling. Bike feels really planted and keeps it's line through the twisties. Also outstanding with a pillion on the back. handles the same as solo. I fitted the standard length (12") with the HD springs as we are quite loaded when we tour.
Hate to add something to this, but has anybody tried the 440 proressive shock? I can buy a new pair for just over 400.00 dollars. terry
I have had a set of 440's on my bike for a little over a year and they have been great. I did notice about a week ago that one of them was leaking so I called the factory and was instructed to ship them in. They rebuilt both of them and shipped them back 2 days later. I don't think that was bad customer service at all. My only expense was the shipping which was about $22.00.
I would never deal with Progressive again EVER!!! I have never met such an unprofessional bunch of retards in my 30 years of fixing bikes......go find a company that actually has customer service, Like Hagon.....
Haha...I agree. They might make a decent product, but their customer service sucks!!!
So what are the bad customer service experiences? I've only dealt with then twice but it was never negative. The first time I called them I wanted to buy mounting hardware for my 440's and they just sent it to me at no charge. The second time was for a repair and all they asked for was the receipt which it clearly states in their warranty that they use to verify the original purchase. With a turn around of 2 days for repair I really can't call that bad service.
