So what are the bad customer service experiences? I've only dealt with then twice but it was never negative. The first time I called them I wanted to buy mounting hardware for my 440's and they just sent it to me at no charge. The second time was for a repair and all they asked for was the receipt which it clearly states in their warranty that they use to verify the original purchase. With a turn around of 2 days for repair I really can't call that bad service.
Not to rant on, since I already did in another post Basically I guess I should say it's not necessarily bad customer service, but the lack of technical skills when I called them. I bought a drop-in kit for my forks and I couldn't fish out the stock springs. I called their customer support line and they said given my situation, I would have to take off the forks. On their website and on their video for the product, it stated that this install would not need for you to take off the forks, so someone is misinformed here, and it's not me. I wrote them an email regarding my frustration, but I never received a reply. I would have thought a company as reputable as Progressive would have replied, whether it be a negative or positive email to them. After some more posting here on the forums, I have learned that it is possible to fish out the stock springs, I just have to take more time. So basically the people here on the forums know more than the "technicians" at Progressive. Also, in my opinion, the company displayed poor business practices by not responding to my email. Again, they might make a good product, I just don't like how they handled my situation.
I really like my Progressive 440's. Much better ride than stock. Hand adjustable.
I wouldn't expect as much performance as Ricor or Ohlins. I just wanted something that rode smoothly and didn't bottom out every time I rode over a speed bump.
i lowered my bike with the 11" 412's. A lot rougher ride because of the reduced travel. And without lowering the front, i get some wobbles because the trail of the bike changed. Looks killer though! haha.
