I wholeheartedly agree that it is "fake". Ditch it.

Fugly + Flooppy Steering = Dated Chopper Forks
Dynas are about handling don't go defeating the design purpose of the bike.

Pretty much a done deal, just need to get the new tree's headed my way.
I'm goin' with my initial plan and losing the kit and going with a nice wide glide tree set up with stock length forks. I'm looking forward to it!!
I just need to decide if i'm going to use the tubes i have and shorten em, or try and find a pair of stock 39mm tubes...anyone got a pair??

Thanks again guy's, i appreciate the honest opinions.

Sounds good. Maybe you can find someone who wants to trade some stock parts for the chopper front.

I'd recommend going with wide glide trees, but stock rake.

The bikes just plain handle so much better at stock rake.

I say this having had both.

Well, the kit is OFF and i put the new tree's on. Just have to put seals in the lowers, install the tubes and slip em in the tree's.
I went with 0 rake and stock length tubes to get the handling back, but stuck with the wide glide style which is my personal fav look on late models.
The new tree's are smooth top and chrome so they look real clean.

So now i can just sell the kit and recoop the cash i spent from buying the stuff i needed to bring it to where i wanted.

The risers and bars will only be used temporarily til i get the 1.5 risers and tall bars, which won't be long.
I should have pics up beginning of next week. Just don't have the time this weekend to finish it up, which is KILLING me! hahaha

Thanks to all for your opinions. Like i said in my first post, i'm not one who normally ask's for them, but, just wanted to make sure my original thought was the way to go and needed neutral thoughts.

Pics soon.
Tony

Looking forward to seeing pics of your ride after you mod it and do the WG front end. Should look really good and handle like you want a dyna to handle. I was thinking of putting a stock length paughco springer front end on but I love the handling of the dyna too much to change it for now. I push it pretty hard in the mountain passes here which we have on every side of us. Good luck !!

For some reason, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that kit on your bike. Just doesn't look right.

I'm sure, if you remove it, you can sell the kit and put that money towards what you want to do.

I'd say if you want to change it, go ahead. It's your bike.
