Default Would like your thoughts. Seeger chopper kit.

Hi guys.
I don't normally ask opinions or thoughts on stuff, i'm normally pretty set in my ways so it has never really mattered what other's thought......
BUT, this time i want some real thoughts from guy's who "understand"..
So....

I have a 2000 Super Glide that already has a Seeger wide glide 13 degree chopper kit on it. I will say it's a nice set up,. And actually does ride and handle as they say with only a little heaviness at slow speeds, but very manageable and easily learned.
Here's my issue.
I'm a die hard hot rodder and have never cared for 'faked' type mods. The kit gives the bike a slick look, but it's not a real chopper and never will be.

From day one of purchasing the bike, the plan was to remove the kit and install a nice custom wide glide front end on it with either stock of 2 under tubes, then lower the back a touch as well.

What would you do if it was yours? Change it or leave it alone?
Guess i'm just torn now..

Note:. many changes will happen this winter, including laced wheels.
Sorry for the goofy question, but i'm about ready to buy new tree's and just looking for thought's from those i don't know, but know bikes..

Thanks guys.

Tony

If it were me, I'd do like you were thinking and go with just a wide glide front end. The Seeger kit does handle pretty good for what it is, but my guess is you'll really like whipping your bike around with a stock rake front end on it.

I have to admit it, I had a Seeger front end on my Sporty for a few years during the big chopper craze (it was a lot cheaper than getting another bike or totally rebuilding mine, and it got the "want" of a chopper out of my system). But my bike rides and handles so much better when I went back to my 2" under wide glide setup that I had originally put on my bike when it was only a year old. On my Dyna I'm torn between keeping the stock narrow glide or converting to a mid or wide glide.

You have a really good looking bike, and my opinion is it would look better with the wide glide.

I appreciate the input fella's. With just the few replies i feel pretty confident in my original plan.
I'll be pulling the Chopper kit off and selling it in favor of the stock rake wide glide set up.
I'll make sure to post up some pics when i get on it.

Thanks again.

Tony
