Thanks for the tips. I was planning on waiting the 24 hours. I put 3 coats on it. First one I did vertical, second was horizontal, and third was diagonal. I waited 5 minutes between each coat.
Just curious, why do you say 2 hours in the oven? I was planning on 1 hour per instructions on can. Have you learned something from your experiences with using it?
We my brother and I buy sell and redo / restore aluminum valve covers like M/T, Cal Custom, Etc as well as other muscle car parts... Have used VHT paints for years heck I never even thought to read the can 1 hr huh!!!!
Have always cook our valve covers at around 200 degrees for around 2 hrs, just what we starting doing years ago so now its just a habbit and its work for me ....
Your dash looks great thought about wrinkling mine but opted for gloss black P/C...
Post up some pic's once you get it installed would like to see what it looks like installed......
This is a picture approximately 24 hours after air drying. It is in direct sunlight. It has not been cured in the oven yet. It is in there as we speak.

I sanded with three separate times. I used a DeWalt 3 Amp 5-inch Random Orbit Sander. First round I used 80 grit, second round 120 grit, and final round 220 grit. I was happy with the surface after the 220. Then I gave the entire console a nice degreaser soap bath and dried it real well before spraying.
I thought about going wrinkle on my strut covers and dash, but decided to just do gloss black to contrast the flat black, plus after trimming down and reshaping the strut covers the chrome was blued so had to do something. But so far your dash looks great
That looks really good! I've been using spray in bed liner and it is fool proof to spray on, but does not have that authentic wrinkle look. Plus the bed liner s**t is a pain in the *** to clean!
