Ive had problems with the bike cutting out during low speed excelleration and after some research determined that it was probably a split in the hose in the tank. Well i take the top off the tank and hit the run switch and sure enough gas sprays in the tank but after i get everything out and get the line off i can't see a split or a hole. I'm gonna replace the line either way but is there anything else i should look fr while i've got the pump out?

Spray you saw was the excess bleading off. Fuel pump pressure is higher then you need for injecter. Of course there is less spray a wot but there is always bleed off unless the filter gets stopped up. First thing if filter is stopped up is it will not idle. I assume we are talking FI and not carb.
I did the same thing last weekend on my Softail. I replaced the fuel pump, lines, and the filter. It runs like new money. I dont know how old your bike is but mine is an 01 and I dont think the filter has ever been changed. If you buy the fuel filter, now they come with both the necessary clamps and the fuel hose that runs from the pump to the filter. Dont do what I did and buy them all seperate and then when you open the box you have 2 of everything FML
That was the same thing mine was doing. Low RPM in second, it would cut out, and lurch forward. After a while it actually started to die. I ran some gas through the filter when I pulled it out and chunks fell out. Also the little filter on the fuel pump gets pretty gross too. Worst part about it is, you cannot just buy a fuel pump from Harley. You have to buy the whole assembly which includes the pump and the black plastic mounting bracket. cost me 248 dollars....
