One of my foot peg rubbers fell off a few days ago. I got replacements and have a question. The ones that came with the bike new have the slanted end facing up. I've always thought that odd. Is that the way they are supposed to be? I'm thinking I'd use some type of rubberized adhesive also. That seems to be what is there. There isn't much of it which probably explains while it fell off. Thanks in advance for your input.
Kinda surprised you are going to the trouble of replacing the rubber - most of us would use this as an excuse to go out and get some new custom pegs instead!
Anyway, when properly mounted, the slanted end of the rider peg should face DOWN to allow a bit more ground clearance when leaning the bike over at an extreme angle. You should use grip glue or maybe 3M super weatherstrip adhesive to securely fasten the new rubbers to your pegs. Hope that helps.
