Default front end options.

I have a 2005 dyna superglide custom. Im looking for opinions on front end possibilities.

1.) I want to lower the bike- at least an inch if not more. 2" looks sweet but I don't know if I want to loose that much lean angle. I grind my mid controls all the time but I am switching to forwards and will gain more angle with them.

2.) I want to run a 21x3.5. But Im concerned with running this in the front with a 120/70/21 and a 160/60/18 in the rear. Im thinking I could maybe squeeze a 170 on the rear. either way, I want the fatter tire in the front. Thoughts?

3.) I'd like to have dual disk in the front

4.) Gaining some better damping would be sweet. I've read a little about different cartridges and emulators........what? Im confused. I dont want to spend a million bucks and I dont need a race bike, but I do ride fairly hard considering all I've had before this was crotch rockets.

I want to run a custom fender, so I'll make that work with whatever setup I decide on, and I have two driving lamps on either side of the headlight I want to keep.

So am I looking for a wide glide front end? I've read something about a midglide? I tried searching but Im more confused now than ever. Thanks gents.

There are plenty of possibilities. I wanted to improve the performance of my front end so I worked with motorcyclemetal and converted my 39mm narrow glide to a 49mm mid-glide. I used the lower forks from a V-rod Nightrod Special.

This configuration allowed me to go with adjustable Ohlins cartridges and to retain my dual front brake setup.

I posted a few pics. The last one shows the adjusters on the top of the cartridges.

You may be able to use a similar setup and squeeze in a fatter tire, or go with wide glide triple trees.

I did some more research. I think the mid glide width would be the width I want. Which I think the best way would be the +06 front end.

I read the +06 front end is a bit longer than my stock +05 front...so would this mean I'd have problems lowering it and bottoming out?

wheres the best place to buy a +06 front? Ebay? or all new from the stealer?

Have you looked at inverted forks. I'm just sayin', if I wanted real forks, thats would be what I was looking at.

I really dont want to spend that much. Seems like going inverted would be at least 2K+.
