Yea, HD Formula +..... Ran the others, Royal Purple, etc.... Inner primary went out, back to basics for now.
Your IPB went out due to a flawed design in the 06 models....there are TONS of threads around here about the '06 IPB failures and how to fix it. Your IPB did not fail due to any oil you ran in the prim...no matter what oil you ran in there, it was doomed. FYI, take care of your stator rotor next...it's also on schedule to fail on you (another 06 flaw)

Yea, I know, I have a seperate folder on my pc on the failures. The MOCO paid for the replacement of the bearing, tranny and inner primary cases in my bike the first time (at 6300 miles) it went out a couple months ago. When the repairs were done, I went back to the basic Formula +, figured why bother with the other oils for the primary.
Thinking of doing the stator this winter, the MOCO will not cover that one easily though.
Thanks for the info though in case I didn't know about it!
Changed the 3 fluids yesterday after a ride down to Jones Beach. I now have 965 miles on this bike. I used the amsoil 20-50 in the primary and engine. Amsoil 70-140 gear lube in tranny. Noticed an exceptable improvement to the primary and engine noise. Thanks for the response to this thread...

If you want to fix your rotor inexpensively before it comes apart simply pull it out and have the bolts spot welded. The new design rotor also requires you to change the stator which really drives the cost up and since there is really no performance improvement other then it being a one piece design you can save some money this way.

Yea, that is what I was thinking of doing. A new one piece is $400 - $500 I think.
