How much do you weigh and what preload setting are you on?? I rode on the 3rd notch today and it was stiff as hell. I'm going to try the 2nd here in a few minutes, but I just want to make sure that if I end up going to the 1st notch I don't take out my fender.
Thanks
Well note that I have the Heavy Duty 11" 412's, I'm 12˝ stone and running it presently on the 3rd notch which is fine for solo/passenger and luggage. The springs seemed to have given a little over the past 18 months..seem to have been broken in so to speak lol
I know where your coming from with the fender thing..after I fitted the rear 412's I checked clearances and thought 'oh ****!' ..fender is real close to the belt guard..but been riding these for 18 months now over all types of roads, solo and laden..no contact yet.
Hey Jaron, bike's lookin' good! I have the cap nut wrench and PVC spacers in my garage, and some cold beer in the fridge. If you want to ride down we can fix you right up.
You'll find your best ride by setting the pre-load (front and rear) to about 30% of full travel. Since you'll be much more likely to bottom out on the big bumps, have you checked the routing of your rear light harness to minimize the chances of ripping it up?
Yea I'll be gone all this weekend and I don't want to deal with that traffic during the week after work...lol!! Thanks though. I'll have to take you up on that offer when I get some cams. I haven't checked the wires yet, guess I should do that today.

A lot of people are running the progressives. I have 11" progressive 412 HD on the rear and today I hoping to put in the drop in springs for the front. Everything is esay to do. My dad has run progressives for 20 yrs on his FXR and has no complaints, so that's why they were # 1 on my list.

Yea that's not the side I'm worried about. Look at the right side of your bike and look where the front of the rear fender is to where the passenger peg is or in my case would be if I had one. There's only like 1" to 1.5" gap there. I'm 220lbs/15.7 stones (what would I do without google..lol) and the 2nd notch is a lot more comfortable. I'm still worried about the 1st notch but still tempted to try and see how it feels....
For those of you using the Progressive Drop-in's up front, how did you get your stock springs out? I'm having a tough time getting them out. I tried using a clothes hanger as some have suggested in another post, but I still can't fish them out.

That would be good to know. Luckily I'm changing my fluids so I'll be pulling my tubes and dumping them upside down.

Thanks I'm sure it will turn out good. Sounds good with the cams.
The side of the fender you were talking about..had no contact there either but think about it..its near the pivot point of the swing arm..what moves up and down a couple of inches at the wheel end moves less at the pivot point..
bike looks good, i don`t what socket you ordered but i know the one i ordered is not worth a damn, Its too shallow and with the radius on the points it just wants to slip off. so i just removed the bars layed em on the tank and used a standard socket.

Damn!! Sounds like what the parts guy told me about the one I bought, but the only other one they had was $80 and no other store around here had a 35mm socket. Guess I'll have to take is slow and see what happens. Thanks for the info!
