I installed them about an hour ago and it became clear why they were included.
I did not use them though since the OEM slip ons were not riveted on and I figure it would be a real hassle if I ever need to remove the slipons for any reason. I did get new clamps with the slip ons and I could not believe how much force it took to tighten them down with a torque wrench.
I will mark a line on the pipe to make sure that they are not slipping offd and retorque them tomorrow after my ride home from work.
Thanks again.
P.S. I must be a real lightweight because they sound pretty darn loud to me and I see people posting all the time that they want louder pipes than the SEII's.
Okay, stupid question alert.....what is the diff ( if any) between the SE and SE II slip ons ??? I have just installed the Screamin' Eagle slip on mufflers on my Super Glide along with the SE air cleaner Kit, and I 'm really happy with the performance and the rumble- but I'll be ticked if overlooked a cooler toy...
Don't know for sure on this one but I thing the SE mufflers were the "torque" mufflers to be replaced by the seII mufflere. If not that then the se mufflers are for baggers, but the seII are the way to go.
now you're gonna make me go home and look it up on the receipt, huh? Mine were HD products, aft muffler says screamin' Eagle in the chrome, BUT my directions say nothing about a rivet. They are meaningfully loud ( ask any of my neighbors)( ask the state trooper who followed me for five miles last sunday)- but now I'm even more curious about what is what
okay they are plain ole SEs, box and receipt says TC FXD Tpered Perf P/N 80061- well I thought they were loud, now I'm suffering relative deprivation- sorry for hijacking the thread
