Default Air shocks on 11 WG?

Found a pair black air shocks off of a 2009 FLH I think they should fit? If they do fit what are the pros and cons to air shocks?

Don't have air shocks, but one of the pros is the ability to adjust the ride height. As far as the ride quality, my neighbor has them on his 2011 FLH and he doesn't like the ride at all. I believe they ride a bit harsher compared to spring type shocks. JMHO

I have seen other posts where people put touring air shocks on there dyna. If i remember they loved them. THe only thing was they are taller than stock dyna shocks. So i think they start at 1" taller. Most people like to lower there bike and they will definatly raise the rear.

I put them on my sportster and they were an improvement over stock but not by much. Do miss the convenience of just adding air for 2 up. The stock shock adjustment is harsh. I know it's just a matter of time where I slip and scratch something.

My air shocks didn't adjust the ride height, I believe they were off of a road king.

i put street glide 12" shocks on my nightster when i had it, to me it made a huge difference in comfort level and if i can find a set of 12" in black will definitely buy them for my WG

I have 12" Street Glide shocks on my Street Bob and they work fine.Better than the original shocks and the 11" Progressive 412s I had.Obviously not as nice as Ricors or Ohlins but a nice change if you can get them cheap.I also had the full size FLH shocks and they work well too on the plus side you get a little extra cornering clearance but they're a little too tall and made my Bob look like a dirt bike especially when I had a chopped fender.

To get ride height adjustment you need the really spendy ones, the OEM HD bagger shocks only adjust for preload which does have some effect on ride height but there is no independent adjustments. I replaced mine with the 13" (non lowering) and I found the ride to be worlds better than the stock shocks - not harsh at all, in fact even with the pressure set for 2up the ride is quite nice even riding solo. For the money (ebay - $52 for new take offs) they really can't be beat. I'll keep them until (or if) I decide to get Ohlins.

so your saying that the road king air shocks aren't as long as the flh shocks so improving the ride but keeping its lowered look.

No, there are aftermarket ones that allow ride height to be set independent of preload, meaning you can have a soft ride without loosing clearance but they cost somewhere around $1000 so not very practical as for that kind of cash you can get good shocks made to your riding style and weight.

There are two from HD, the standard height which are 13" and the lowering version which I think are 12" - make sure to get the -09 suffix if you go that route.

He check the pressure in them??
And, shock angle is much more on a dyna than on a touring frame, which will make the same shock feel softer on the dyna.

I believe the HD profile are 12". $280 at dealer. There black..
Want chrome Progressive makes the Air Dragger which allows 2" of height adjustment. Can get them on ebay for $372. List is $500

And here's a thread with more pro's/con's
