It's a great look and with the exposed shocks which are easy to adjust it's also a good ride.
Throw some saddlebags on and it's a touring bike for some.
I like mine!

I have completely revamped my FXD, lowered it, chromed it, new seat, new bars, more chrome, new pipes, newer pipes and now it's in the shop for paint. So far I've done all that and still spent less than I would have on a Softail, or RoadKing, although I want one of those some day too. Now I'm looking a doing an engine build......then there's wheels and more chrome......................

SG's are like little kids, puppies, kittens and free beer. How can you not like them?

Hey, jimbo fxd... I've looked all over for some black pipes. Those look great!

Did you have them painted or finished like that?

I painted them. It's Krylon BBQ + stove paint. Auto Zone carries it. It's good to 1200 Deg. I scuffed them with fine grit sand paper. Wiped them down with acetone. Sprayed two coats. They look like I powder coated them and are holding up great. Less than $10. Of every thing I have done to the bike that gets the most questions...Until they don't see the clutch lever and see that shifter sticking out behind the primary. But the Jockey shift/foot clutch cost more than $10...I have about $40 in that mod.

^ Thanks... I wondered.

Years ago, I painted the pipe on my old Kawasaki KZ-1000 with heat paint that cured when you ran the engine for a few minutes.

I assume the Krylon does the same thing?

I love my Superglide .... such a great bike at a great price!! I dont mind the silver engine at all .... I think it blends quite well with the chopper blue color and black frame. In fact, I've purposely tried to NOT add too many chrome items to the bike to keep it balanced ..... so nothing overpowers anything else. Black, Blue, Silver, and a little Chrome here and there to catch the eye.

Oh ya ... I love my ChoPPeR BluE SG!!
