Do you like Superglides?
the only thing i don't like is the rear fork mounted to the tranny, which in turn is rubber mounted, can make the rear feel funny in a turn sometimes
I've always like the SG. It's like a sportster on steroids. In fact, I went in looking for a Electra Glide or Road King, but I kept coming back to that silver SG with the silver powder coated engine and black accents; I liked the way the shocks were exposed and I liked the clean looks and beautiful lines the bike had. I bought it and have never second guessed my choice. Of all the bike shows I've been to and all the other customs I've seen, I'm still satisfied with my choice. The only things I've done is change the seat to a more comfortable one (Mustang) with a backrest for my poor old back and added the Stage One upgrade. As my 06 is a one year run and I'm a satisfied guy, I'll just keep on riding. My dealer has a Screaming Eagle SG on the floor and even that doesn't excite me enough to make a change. If I get a little squirrely later on, I'll build me a bare bones, knuckle dragging bike with a street commander attitude and add a blower and nitrous for Sh*ts & Grins.
I really like `em, silver motor and all. Mudpuddle's looks great! Been trying to get my brother to get one and finally retire his `76 Honda 550F to custom bobber status.
I really like the "Sportster on steroids" quote.
I bought my '07 Super Glide for that exact reason: it was the smallest, lightest Harley I could get, with the new 96-inch motor.
I have always loved Sportys, but at 6'4" tall with bad knees, I'm just a little too big for them.
I agree with everyone else, too: it just seems to me like the Super Glide is a blank sheet of paper; infinitely customize-able.
I also like the '70's look. I was a teenager in the '70s, and lusted after H-D's... but couldn't afford one.
Here's mine, brand new as of last Saturday, with about 150 miles on her:
