Almost stranded
I was going to put this in the lighting / electrical forum but it appears that forum hasn't taken off. I don't see any posts there so I thought I would ask for help here
I was out late this evening and I heard a pop from my headlight. I took a look and the light has ceased to work. Since it was getting close to dusk,. I had to High tail it on home....I just made it (and passed a cop on the way)
I have a HID made specifically for motorcycles so it is going to require a little troubleshooting and there was no fast fix such as carrying a spare bulb.

So, my thoughts are to put more lights on the bike that are not HID in case it craps out again.
I know someone is going to say just ditch the HID but I can really see better and am hoping this is a fluke
My question is, what options are out there for a 99Wide Glide to mount additional lights that could be used at night in case of a failure
Is there a light bar that will not look like crap made for the WG or will I need to make something fit from another bike
Keep in mind, I want additional lights that are not small road lights so if I did have to ride it on home, it would not draw the attention of the law.

the hids for bikes are super dangerous, i have a buddy whos bike burned to the ground after experiencing the same problem your having. but there are tons of spot lights that mount to the fork lowers or lower wishbone, pick up a j&p and dig through lighting.
