Thanks DK. I guess the 3" is next on my list with some nightster bars. Should be sweet looking.

Check out the risers. That bike has no clearance problems.

Don't reckon anyone should ever install a tank lift where the bars can't go from lock to lock. Only a matter of time before the tank gets a dent.

It is really easy to check what your bike will look like with different height tank lifts (and to make sure there are no clearance issues).

1. With bike on kickstand, take the bolt out of the front of your tank.

2. Loosen (do not remove) the bolt at the rear of your tank.

3. Use a towel to put between the tank and backbone, step back and see how it looks...once you get the height you like, measure center of bolt hole on frame to center of bolt hole in tank ear.

Also, once you have it at the height you like, turn your handlebars all the way to the left and
right (carefully) to check for any clearance issues.

With the 2" lift my turn sigs hit on full turns so I relocated them to the forks. I also got new 8" risers.

I had a 3" installed:

3" is too tall IMO because it raises the tank above the bottom of the backbone. I ended up cutting my 3" down to 2".

2" keeps the bottom of the tank level with the bottom of the backbone.

2" tank lift installed:

It looks like the 3" does raise it up a bit too much. It kind of adds an extra line under the tank that doesn't seem to look right. I guess a 2" will have to do but the 3" does give the upper part of the tank a better line with the seat. Thanks for the pics.
