Default Why did you buy a Dyna?

I bought my 05 Dyna Wide Glide in the spring of 05.

Several reasons why I bought what I did.

I like the looks of the DWG. I am from the 60's, 70's era of bike riders and the DWG looks more like "Those" bikes then any other Harley makes.

I like ape hangers, even if they are mini ones. One day thay will be changed to 4" higher to accomodate my 37" arm length.

I have to buy a Harley with forward controls. My legs are to long to use mid controls (36" inseam).

I don't like the looks of the dressers. Reminds me of Hogans Heros and Colonel Klink. Sorry, no offence meant, everybody has their own tastes.

I never ever heel shifted so I had to get a bike that toe shifts

I am sure I have additional reasons for buying a DWG but these are what come to mind at the moment.

Hmm.... that makes my answer sound less valid. The price was right and the payments fit the budget. Oh, and the 883 Hugger was too small.

Why did I pick my Dyna

1) Everyone owns a Softail
2) I liked the old school look (course I have changed it since then)
3) Forward Controls
4) Loaded with chrome
5) Felt good to ride
6) Since I like to modify things, the FXDWG had plenty of potential

Bought a 2004 Electra Glide Standard for the long haul and taking the wife out. Big is really too big for me and her together.
I needed something for the twisties and wanted to get a Dyna since I had already owned a '94 Sporty 1200, '98 Spinger Softail, the FLHTI. The Bob was the best bang for the buck and I liked the color and style.
I still find it hard to tell myself to sell the Glide though.

Why I bought a dyna ?

I feel the bike was made for me and it's still stock.

Love the way it handles in the city and country.

Can tour with it if half dressed.

like the low and clean look.

not too heavy for a 641 pound bike.

I SAT ON ALL THE BIKES MANY TIMES AND DYNA WAS GOOD LOOKING AND READY TO RIDE.
