I will make sure whatever exhaust I choose has some kind of quiet baffle. The SE slip-ons are louder since the PO added a different cam, plus sometimes they just get louder with age maybe. I'm also wondering if the fact the front muffler terminates about even with where I sit makes it seem louder than a full exhaust that extends?
I thought black might look good on this bike but am having second thoughts, may be too much black. Leaning toward chrome now. Anyway thanks for your advice!
I just installed a D&D Fat Cat with the quiet baffle. There isn't a dog gone thing "quiet" about that pipe... not obnoxiously loud but folks definately will here me coming...packs a punch also.
I've heard great things about the supertrapp pipes, but look into the D&D fat at and get the quiet baffle for it. My fat cat with the big bore baffle screams when I get on it but at idle its pretty good... so the quiet baffle should be decent.
I tried the BCT QQ quiet baffles on my V&H Sideshots and they helped a little but it was still kinda loud so I went with a Supermeg, I gained a good bit of bottom end TQ. It was too quiet so I put the open cap on w/12 disc and it's just right now, at cruise it's quiet but when I yank on the throttle it will get loud.
