Will you be able to install the hard bags off of the new switchback to a 09 s glide
the way I see all you would have to do is change rear fender and get the hardware
let me know what y'all think
The bags have a lower mount at the bottom of the switchback fender so you would also need the fender or just use the 2 top mounting bolts on your strut and shore it up somehow.
Depends on what you use the bike for. Some people won't go to Starbucks if there is a cloud above. I'm tired of having wet bags so am shoping for hard bags. Do what works for you.
I've been studying the 2012 parts book and it seems it would be a straight bolt on, struts are the same but you will need the rear fender and associated inner brackets to support everything - however, if you have a wide rear wheel/tire then forget it because the SWB fender is 3/8" narrower than the SG/SB fender. Won't be cheap though, I didn't ask about the bags but the fender alone is over $400.

don't know what you ended up doing on this old issue/post but my switchback bags will become available for sale fairly soon. Think about it though, they don't hold much. About 1/3 less space than the RK bags.
Mine will go for somewhere around $1k as new, they are somewhere around $1800 from HD.
I will be going leather and just condition them for water repellant issues. Not much different than taking care of some fine boots, in my book.
