What kind of air cleaner do you have? My heavy breather made chirping sounds on my 08 Fatboy.

When I removed the sissy bar I didnt put any spacers ... It took a while to squeek but when it did it droved me insane I dissambled almost everything on the bike ... ex ... running without exhaust. Finally founded out with a friend that it was the damn strut cover scraping against the upper shock eye.

Found mine to be the rear exhaust mount at the engine on my Rineharts, the bolt was loose, only made the noise from time to time, drove me nuts.

Chirp = belt tension (usually too loose)

Just finished fixing a "chirp" that was driving me crazy. I thought it was coming from my exhaust. Started in Sturgis when I was riding around without any baggage. Turned out that the screws holding my backrest were loose and one was missing. When loaded with luggage, no issue. Tightened them up and replaced the one that was missing and the problem was solved. Definitely a metal-on-metal issue for me.

Ive tightend everything i can think or that has been suggested but its still there. I dont see how it could be the belt, while the bike is idling i push the belt with my foot and there is no change in the noise. Ahh well the hunt goes on!!! getting sick of it though..
Thanks for all the suggestions

Yes I was 100 % sure it was the exhaust I even took it off because it drove me insane. I'm telling you either put a spacer between the strut cover and youre fender or remove the strut cover.
Just remove it... that way you'll know for sure.
