no heat makes sense. I had the same problem with a header stud broken off about an inch from flush. I will always soak it with some type of penetrating oil now. But i see how things can get worse no matter what you try. Good luck either way. Getting colder here in the morth by the day, hope it gets sorted fast.
Oh, I feel the pain. I have had days like that more than once. Hope it all works out OK.
Vic if'n ya ever get a chance, Nick's Custom Cycle down in Williamstown has some neat stuff, besides Custom bikes the guy has a really large motorcycle salvage yard and old Harley Museum. http://www.nickscustomcycles.com (856) 728-9607 he's been around 30-40 years.

Thanks, Steve. I'll have to check it out.
Just did a google map from here to there. Puts me back on I-95. I'm afraid if I get back on that road heading south, I won't stop until I am back in the land of the free. LOL

Oh hell no, take the scenic route go get on Rt.19 take it to 509, to Rt.9 to 70, on down to 72 then on to 563, to 542, then 206 on to 322.........
It will take you out of the cities along the shore cost, through the Barrons, on up through some of NJ's back country roads. It's a good three hour run. You could hook up with Lou, (NJWideglde) he lives down that way and loves to cruise the back roads.
If youre still fighting with it and are running out of ideas, heres a couple of suggestions....
If you have access to a TIG, weld a knot or bead to the top of the bolt, then grab it with vice grips and twist it out. If you break off the bead, just do it again....
Second, Look around for a broken bolt removal place that specializes in laser or EDM. It'll cost you around 50 bucks or so, but they'll get it out. Try to avoid plasma. Unless the guy is really good, he'll do more damage than good.
